Remote access (off-campus)

BDRT

Note : Only students and staff members of UCLouvain are eligible to access electronic resources and databases of the library from off-campus.

Proxy server

Off campus access happens through the "proxy server" of the libraries (click on the "Remote access?" buttonRemote access? )

First go to the UCLouvain Libraries portal and choose the "Bases de données" (databases) tab ; type in the database name (ex : Westlaw);

  1. Before clicking on the link of the database in the catalog, use the "remote access?" button in the head of the window
  2. Sign in with your UCLouvain ID (not your address mail) and password
  3. Then click on the link of the database from the catalog.

Remote access will only function properly if you always go through the catalog interface.
If, after logging in to the library proxy, you manually enter the URL of the database into the address bar of your browser, or if you use a bookmark, you will not be authenticated as a UCLouvain student or staff member.

"Single Sign On"

There are, at this time, 2 exceptions to the "proxy procedure" : to access MonKEY and Lexis360 (wether your are on-campus or off-campus), click directly on the link and sign in directly from the database with your UCLouvain ID and password without using the proxy server.
