About

The aim of the Institute of Neuroscience (IoNS) is to offer a research environment where the neuroscientists find favorable conditions for developing their long-term projects, and where students, trainees and young researchers are able to satisfy their desire to progress in their career.

The IoNS was founded in 2010. It is a young research institute of the UCLouvain Health Sector, in which about 210 researchers and 30 administrative and technical staff work on 3 different sites (Brussels, Louvain-la-Neuve, Mont-Godinne).

Research is organized in 3 divisions (Cellular and Molecular, System and Cognition, Clinical Neuroscience) and benefits from strong interactions with the academic hospitals (Cliniques universitaires St Luc and CHU Dinant Godinne). State-of-the-art research cannot be achieved without innovative experimental approaches, and the IoNS is proud to host 2 technical platforms (Animal behavior and Neuroimaging), that boost research at the Institute and promote fruitful collaborations far beyond the UCLouvain Health Sector.
