Welcome to the Centre Montesquieu d'études de l'action publique (CMAP) – policies and administrative section - of the Université catholique de Louvain.

 
Our research Centre is part of the Institute of Political Science Louvain-Europe (ISPOLE). It participates in numerous research projects and networks. It publishes results in scientific journals and sometimes magazines popularizing science.
In the field of public management, our team is specialized in the relations between public administration and political authorities, budgetary and financial management, organizational change, collaborative governance, local governance, and the digitalization and modernization of public administrations. In the field of public policy, our team provides policy analyses mainly in the sectors of environment, education and social policies, public health, energy, telecommunications, justice, and public finance.
 
All the teaching provided by the members of the Centre Montesquieu draws on their latest research results, as well as those of their international partners. The Centre Montesquieu is part of the master’s in public administration of KULeuven (a member of the European Masters of Public Administration – EMPA network of excellence, composed of ten leading European universities). The members of the Centre also contribute to the training of public officials and civil society actors through several inter-university certificates: University Certificate in Public Policy Evaluation; Inter-University Certificate in Prospective Analysis; Inter-University Certificate in Public Finance; Inter-University Certificate in Public Management (CiMAP). The Centre is also a major player in several Bachelor and Master programmes in the field of political and social sciences, mainly at the UCLouvain campuses of Louvain-la-Neuve and Mons.
