Niko Väänänen holds a Master in Social Sciences from University of Eastern Finland. He has previous work experience as a senior advisor in the Finnish Centre for Pensions. He previously acted as the chair of the pension committee in the European Social Insurance Platform of European Social Security Organizations. At the Hoover Chair he will perform his PhD research on questions of a fair pension system with links to funding and pension credits for childcare, military service and education.
